DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:· Gives direct nursing care· Identifies nursing needs of patients· Plans, gives and evaluates nursing care· Admits patient.· Performs such nursing activities such as bathing and oral hygiene.· Assist patient in moving, maintaining proper alignment of patient’s body and utilizing good body mechanics.· Takes and records vital sign.· Observes medical sepsis.· Observes signs and symptoms, institutes remedial action when appropriate and records these in her chart· Reports observation to the physician.· Observes and responds to patients’ emotional spiritual needs.· Acts as liaison between patient and hospital personnel.· Interprets to the patient and his family their roles in promoting successful therapy and rehabilitation.· Prepares patients for, and assist physicians with, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.· Carries out doctor’s legal orders.· Assist Physicians when examining the patients.· Performs irrigations, catheterizations and gives enemas· Administers and charts medications and patients’ reaction to medications.· Instructs patients and families.· Sees to it that equipment receive proper care and maintenance.· Discharge patients.· Performs post-motem care.· Teaches and directs nonprofessional nursing personnel.· Acts as a charge nurse / medication nurse when so delegated.· receives and endorse ward equipment and supplies· Interprets hospital policies and procedure· Gives health teachings.· Maintains good relationships with other hospital personnel.· Charts accurately medications and treatments given.· Attends meetings and conferences.· Other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.JOB SPECIFICATIONS:· Minimum Education / Experience Required:Graduate of BS Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing and current licensure by State Board Nursing.Orientation training in specific unit only; no experience required beyond that obtained in school of nursin
