We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with a sound knowledge of best-practice psychological theories and treatment approaches to work with adults experiencing mental health difficulties within a forensic context. While not essential, previous experience with forensic, correctional, or other high risk-high needs clients would be an advantage. About the role:Our Crisis Resolution Service (CRS), part of the Mental Health, Addictions & Intellectual Disability Service MHAIDS, is a 24 hour Community Mental Health and Addiction Team working across the Hutt Valley and Wellington Region. They respond to the acute needs of people across the life span, which are experiencing psychological distress and require immediate intervention in our community. CRS has 3 main bases - Kenepuru Hospital, Wellington ED and Hutt Hospital. The position is required to support and promote the delivery of mental health assessment and treatment in both a crisis and a community setting, utilizing the expertise of the full interdisciplinary team, including primary care providers. Skills & Experience:The ideal applicant will have worked for at least 3 years as a registered Occupational Therapist and have acute/community mental health and addiction experience. Recent experience in mental health telephone triage/acute crisis work will be an advantage. Knowledge of the Hutt Valley and Wellington region would be an advantage, but not essential. You must be registered with the New Zealand OT Board and consent to a police vetting process under the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014. Please note this is a 3DHB position and you will be rostered to work across all bases on a rotating basis.
