Essential Criteria: · Registered on the Live Register in the General Division of the Register of Nurses as maintained by the NMBI. · Masters level Degree or equivalent experience · Management Qualification · Minimum of 3 years elderly care experience, which should be at management level. · Knowledge of the Nursing Home Industry · Have a full understanding of the National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People · Have wide general nursing experience and proven leadership qualities. · Have experience/ qualification in /Gerontology. · Evidence of consistent updating of clinical skills and knowledge · Demonstrable coaching & development skills within clinical practice · Competent and confident IT skills · Has worked with or has a knowledge of caring for people with dementia. DIRECTOR OF NURSING is needed for 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in NE Montana that provides inpatient, outpatient, 24-hour ER, and skilled and non-skilled long-term care services. We do not provide surgical or obstetrical services. This is a great opportunity for the Registered Nurse who likes rural nursing and serving in a management role in a rural healthcare facility. The average long-term care census is 21 patients per day, the average skilled swing bed census is 1.5, the average daily inpatient census is 0.2 patients per day, the average number of ER patients is 40 per month. Applicant should have the following attributes:• Registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years of clinical management experience.• Strong leadership qualities to direct a staff of 7 RNs, 1-2 LPNs, 14 CNAs; staffing is a mix of facility employees and locum/contract employees.• Ability to manage and delegate the many quality/performance improvement initiatives required by federal regulation in cooperation/coordination with the QI Coordinator.• Oversee and direct antibiotic stewardship requirements.• Stay up to date with the Critical Access Hospital State Operations Manual and the survey process. Update policies and procedures as needed.• Must be willing to work occasional shifts on the floor. Obtain/maintain ACLS, TNCC, PALS certifications.• Focused attention on recruitment/retention.• Self-motivation and drive to do what is needed to delegate, manage, oversee the responsibilities of the position.• Available to staff by phone after hours and occasionally must come in and assist.
