The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an experienced registered nurse with specialist skills to assess and treat patients and manage the clinical environment, in liaison with the management and consultant team. The nurse will act as an autonomous practitioner in forming clinical decisions and complex management plans in the assessment and treatment of patients. In conjunction with senior nursing and consultant staff formulate the development of clinical guidance for all aspects of clinical practice within the clinical speciality. The Gynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist will undertake community clinics providing the following outpatient appointments; · Mirena insertion / removal · Endometrial biopsy · Cervical Cautery (with silver nitrate) · Ring/Shelf Pessary insertion/removal · General nurse follow-ups · Smears and speculum exam · HVS and vulval swabs · MSU order and review/treat · Pessary fitting (vaginal oestrogen) · Bladder retraining · Bloods (order and review) · USS (Abdo and TV order and review) · Referring for investigations in secondary care · Histology and results triage/sign off (for discussion with patient) · Experience of PGDs · Abdo and Pelvis exam · Mirena fitting/review · Contraception To support patient pathways in gynaecology and participate fully in the treatment and monitoring of the patients. To support where and when necessary with audit, triage of results and triage of referrals. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate self- initiative as well as have the ability to manage their own caseload for the Nurse follow-up clinics. Additional Information: Hours: 0900-1700 - 40 hours per week (5 days over 7 days) Days: Monday to Sundays covering 5 days over 7 days per week Salary: Band 6 £42000.00 / Band 7 £50000.00 Locations include Birmingham & Stoke

They address any concerns patients have and consult with doctors and other specialists to provide accurate information.Handle Record KeepingLike other registered nurses, OB nurses update patients’ charts with information gathered through physical exams and make any changes to patient care plans under a doctor’s supervision.
