This is a full time role with a two year employment contract with a large healthcare provider in Saudi Arabia. As a consultant anaesthetist, you will join an established team of consultants, specialists and residents to provide a fully comprehensive anaesthesia service in a private general hospital to in patients, out patients and day case patients. The company owns and operates extensive healthcare facilities in Saudi Arabia and the UAE and is expanding its services throughout the Gulf states opening hospitals and polyclinics providing primary, secondary and selected tertiary care. Facilities hold JCI accreditation and are renowned for the provision of American standards of healthcare. You can expect to work in modern, well equipped facilities with generous remuneration which includes tax free income and a package of benefits with free accommodation and healthcare.  Duties Pre- operative assessment of patients for surgery Peri -operative management of patients undergoing surgery or interventional procedures Post operative management of patients in immediate recovery period Consultations on request from other physicians Working hours are 48 per week Sunday - Thursday. There is an accredited CME program and an allowance for CME activities. Duties You will join a team of anaesthetists providing 1 in 4 – 1 in 5 cover, manage anaesthesia services for hospitalised patients and outpatients for elective and emergency surgical procedures. General Surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology and ENT Surgery are the major disciplines. occasional travel may be required for the remote rescue of patients by air. Remuneration  Fee-For-Service or on a salary scale. Salary scales are determined by the Provincial Department of Health and Community Services and start with Step 1 at $215,749 and increase to Step 5 at $258,316 A yearly retention bonus is also available, starting at $12,000 after the first year and increasing to $36,000 after the third year. Additional remuneration is also available for salaried physicians for coverage of call in excess of 1 in 3.

During surgery, anesthesiologists administer anesthetics (drugs) and adjust them as needed, and they also monitor patients' vital signs. In addition, they provide relief for women during labor, for patients in intensive care and for chronic pain patients.

Monitor patient conditions during treatments, procedures, or activities. Record type and amount of anesthesia and patient condition throughout procedure. Record patient medical histories. Provide and maintain life support and airway management and help prepare patients for emergency surgery.

Meeting with patients before medical procedures to discuss their medical history and lifestyle.Assessing patients' conditions through analysis of medical history.Explaining to patients the surgical process.Administering anesthesia and monitoring patient vital signs during medical and surgical procedures, and making appropriate adjustments in anesthesia to ensure patient comfort.Monitoring patient vital signs and pain management after surgical and medical procedures to ensure patient comfort.Maintaining patient records relating to their procedures and the type and amounts of medications given.
