Duties As the Consultant Psychiatrist in this area you will provide psychiatric assessment and management of patients under the care of Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team. The surgical department is accredited for FRACS training. This is a combined leadership and clinical role for an experienced radiologist with skills in MRI in a regional general hospital which is implementing a new MRI service. Affiliated with two medical schools, the hospital functions as a provider of secondary care and teaching for residents and medical students. With 350 bed the hospital offers most medical and surgical specialities with the exception of Cardiothoracic, Plastic and Neurosurgery. It provides some tertiary care services. It serves a local population of 170,000 but is the base for a regional head and neck oncology service which has responsibility for a population of 550,000. There is an active postgraduate medical society and there are excellent clinical library facilities.
