Under the direction of the Director of Radiology and the Radiologist, the pediatric CT Technologist at Children’s Hospital is responsible for the independent operation of imaging equipment and performing diagnostic examinations on the pediatric population up to 21 years of age. The pediatric CT Technologist is a specialist in pediatric imaging and cares for adolescents, children, and infants suffering from acute or chronic conditions and illnesses. This professional focuses on treating special needs children including developmentally disabled patients and oncology patients. They are licensed, registered Technologists that have completed advanced training in physiological, developmental, and physical pediatric needs. The pediatric CT Technologist is responsible for the daily operations, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment of the Radiology Department. The pediatric CT Technologist maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times, requires initiative and independent judgment, and is self-motivated to increase knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.
