We seek an experienced, compassionate Physiatrist to join a prominent and growing Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation team as Medical Director of the Inpatient Consult Service in the state's largest hospital. Provide clinical leadership and support in the newly renovated 13-bed inpatient rehab unit in a 700+ bed acute care hospital and academic medical center. A second position is available for a Staff Physician in Physical Medicine and Rehab and new graduates are welcome!This unit provides intensive rehabilitation therapy for patients recovering from Neurological/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, and other injuries and illnesses. This respected research center recently received a $25 million grant from the Department of Defense for research on Spinal Cord Injury, to help veterans.As the Consult Service Lead for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, you will have a hands-on clinical role that includes performing inpatient consults as you lead your team in developing, implementing and improving service quality reporting to the Chief of PMR. This group interacts with existing programs to provide seamless patient care, reducing readmissions. Join 19 Physiatrists in various hospital departments a team of friendly, enthusiastic and caring specialists, therapists and nurses working every day to improve the quality of life of their patients through interventional and pain medicine.As the Medical Director of the inpatient unit, you will provide direct care to patients and manage patient flow in and out of the unit. You will screen patients, lead the multi-disciplinary team for coordinated care, and discharge patients.
