We are looking for a clinical psychologist who is an autonomous professional, leader and team player who can bring their experience and expertise to bear on challenging psychological and mental health issues and to help the team support service users to reach their full potential. You will work with a dynamic multi-professional team leading development of individual formulations and psychological assessment. With the support of a Consultant Psychologist and Assistant Psychologist, you will support the development and delivery of behavioural and other psychological interventions for service users and provide appropriately distilled psychologically informed guidance to aid recovery and independence. The successful candidate will work closely with the Consultant Psychologist and hospital director in considering new referrals and discharges and be responsible for professional psychological practice and quality to ensure excellence in patient experience and outcomes. You will be a confident teacher who is keen to help develop others. You will understand the dynamics of working in both hospital and care environments and be able to help offer containment and support to those who need it within a culture of compassion. You will provide leadership to the MDT and contribute to the development of services. To support this post, regular clinical and professional supervision will be provided by an experienced registered Clinical Psychologist. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your professional skills, to carry out service evaluation / research and to publish your work where appropriate. Experience We would like our post holder to have experience in a senior role, working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the population in the service area. You must have experience of developing and delivering formulation led care and be competent in a range of therapeutic delivery.

This position will be available for appointed Psychologist to start as soon as possible, offering both full-time and part-time hours for an ongoing period. The Psychologist will work in a learning disabilities service with working age adults all of whom have a moderate to severe learning disability. The post will involve working as part of a well-integrated, innovative multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality assessments and interventions. There is also an element of multiagency working with social care colleagues.
