Under general medical and technical direction of a duly licensed Physician, with considerable latitude for independent initiative and judgment, performs the following duties:• Assists in the planning, development and coordination of the department quality assurance program.• Participates in the evaluation of discharged patients for home respiratory care.• Plans, develops and coordinates in-service training programs related to the delivery of respiratory therapy.• Plans, develops and coordinates research activities relating to respiratory therapy.• Plans, develops and coordinates product evaluations relating to respiratory care.• Arranges for the provision of clinical supervision in specialty care areas.• May be assigned duties and responsibilities of immediate supervisor in his or her absence on a temporary basis.• Identifies quality assurance issues and ensures adherence to established protocols and standards of care.• Provides in-service training related to the delivery of respiratory therapy services.• May participate in research activities related to respiratory care.• Participates in product evaluations.• Provides clinical supervision in specialty care areas as assigned.
