Supervisory/Leadership Role: The Head of Engineering plays a leadership role in the engineering department where he seeks excellence in all engineering disciplines inclusive of data processing, quality assurance, application development, analytics, machine learning, algorithms, and data warehousing.In this position, the Head of Engineering manages the day-to-day activities of the engineering teams as well as the management and execution of site/software development projects against delivery commitments and project plans. The Head of Engineering is also in charge of the management of the department’s staffing, resources, and mentoring, and maintaining a best-in-class engineering department.The Head of Engineering leads the engineering team in the delivery of platform functionality through a mix of development software and helps the team in achieving and surpassing departmental goals. He provides technical guidance and direction, as well as hands-on resource and project management, for all site/software development activities.He takes the lead with a profound understanding of new and relevant technologies for the purpose of realizing efficiency. He ensures the optimal application of engineering resources in order to meet product development and consumer requirements and ensures the implementation of agile processes that support site/software development processes.The Head of Engineering plays a leading role in the recruiting activities of the engineering department in order to ensure consistency in departmental efficiency. The Head of Engineering plays a mentorship role to key engineering personnel, assisting in their duties upon request, and constantly promoting the growth of their professional skills, readying them for the assumption of his duties in his absence or retirement.

Job Summary:Executes manufacturing engineering tasks under the direction of the plant manager. Supports daily production under the guidance of the global manufacturing engineering group. Performs work, which involves conventional engineering practice to maintain process control while also driving continuous improvement.Essential Job Duties:- Controls and optimizes existing manufacturing processes- Drives continuous improvement by practicing Gemba and supporting operations through hands on application- Supports the company’s lean initiatives- Analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout in order to maximize efficiency- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, engineering, process, and/or production teams to meet quality, productivity, and cost objectivesOther Job Duties:- Coordinates the activities of in-house service groups and outside suppliers for machine, equipment, tool and fixture fabrication- Assists the global manufacturing engineering team with the introduction of new manufacturing processes and equipment to production- Updates and maintains pFMEA documentation Improves and maintains systems to keep process parameters within acceptable tolerances; this includes environmental control where applicable- Participates in and supports the daily operations accountability process- Performs time studies to establish standards for production activities- Assesses workload, writes specific task assignments, follows up to assure timely completion

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Good understanding and in-depth knowledge of cGMP, SOP's, GLP, QA/QC.Good communication skills both oral and written.MUST HAVES:5 + years’ experience in - pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, biotech, nutraceuticals, etc.Experience working in a regulated (i.e. FDA, NPA, etc) GMP environment.Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related science.Strong experience in working with USP/AOAC.Proficiency in working with Instrument Operation, HPLC, GC & FTIR.Hands-on experience with chromatography.Experience using analytical instrumentation including analytical balances, TOC, spectrophotometers and data integrity.NICE TO HAVE:Experience with EP, BP, ACS, and ICH guidelines.Experience with Waters HPLC equipment and Empower 3 Chromatography Software.Experience with preventive maintenance and calibration of instruments.Experience in maintaining data integrity is required.
