Under direction of the Chief Medical Officer for East New York, plans, organizes, supervises and controls medical and health care services in the areas of Women’s Health- OB/GYN. This position is a clinical as well as supervisory position with responsibilities including rendering patient care, management of department staff, management of department policies and coordination with other clinic directors and administration.• Formulates policies, methods and procedures and prescribes standards for treatment, diagnosis, control and prevention of illness.• Reviews, monitors and supervises methods of delivering care and evaluates patient care.• Provides dental services within the scope of approved privileges• Documents all patient contact in the EMR in a timely manner.• Assumes responsibility for their panel of patients and those patients they care for.• Provides relevant health education and instruction; counsels patient/family/responsible other on the impact of illness and principles of health promotion and maintenance.• Provides clinical and didactic instruction to professional staff, peers, students and community groups and conducts in-service educational programs, as needed.• Collaborates to provide care coordination of activities in providing comprehensive care. (e.g. other healthcare providers, local health departments, social service, nutritionist, medical, community based organizations, home care and patient education groups).• Periodically evaluates medical procedures, policies and techniques and approves or recommends revisions required to meet the changing conditions in accordance with patient needs, community needs and advancement in medical knowledge.• Participates in departmental meetings and interdisciplinary or community committees, as well as Peer Review Performance Improvement meetings and activities, as required.
