ABOUT THE ROLEThe Mental Health Addictions& Intellectual Disability Service MHAIDS Operations Centre has vacancies for Acute Resource Mental Health Support Workers to work in a permanent, rostered and rotating role for their team. This is an exciting and challenging new role, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with individuals, families and whānau who are experiencing a short term mental health crisis. The role is part of a 3DHB service which covers the Wellington, Porirua and Hutt Valley areas. The main purpose of the role is to support the clinical team with practical tasks to allow clinicians to be more responsive to the acute clinical needs of individuals. This may include transporting people, providing watches in the general hospital or the Emergency Department, and supporting individuals/families/whanau in a culturally appropriate way.SKILLS & EXPERIENCEHave experience working in the area of mental healthFlexibleAble to work under stress & demonstrate the ability to easily adapt to new environmentsAble to work within teams with a multi-disciplinary approach for service users and their families.ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) spans three DHBs - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB’s and includes local, regional, and national services. The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region – greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.

These are 0. 93 FTE rostered and rotating positions.
