A post has arisen within HealthHarmonie for Optometrists with a specialist interest in Glaucoma to join our team in delivering community outpatient eye appointments.   The position is for a specialist community optometrist who already possess the College of Optometrists Professional Diploma in Glaucoma or Higher Cert in Glaucoma and IP registered with a minimum of 2 years working in a glaucoma setting preferably a hospital setting or community based (or equivalent).   As a Specialist Community Optometrist, you must be able to provide services in Glaucoma care. Perform vision tests and analyze results. Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness, eye diseases such as glaucoma. Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids, and if state law permits medications. Take detailed medical histories for all patients, including current and past prescription medications. Oversee day-to-day operations Design strategy and set goals for growth Maintain budgets and optimize expenses Set policies and processes Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally Oversee recruitment and training of new employees Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance Direct the employee assessment process Prepare regular reports for upper management Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
