Oakleaf are looking for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join the MDT of our brand-new service, recently opened in Speke. You will be based at the service, and you will work alongside a full team, including nurses, support workers, activities co-ordinator, clinical psychologist, and consultant psychiatrist. You must have excellent organisational, communication and time management skills. Knowledge and experience of risk assessment, care programme approach and provision of quality assessments and interventions (using the Model of Human Occupation) would be of benefit. Job Purpose To provide a speech and language (SLT) assessment, advice, and treatment of service. To work compassionately with service users and carers to achieve identified goals and to promote independence and well-being, within a person-centred framework. To manage a defined caseload of patients, responding to referrals. To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the SLT service within a designated team. To provide expertise in dysphagia and communication and to offer advice and consultation on clients care to other members of the team and external agencies. To work within the professional practice and Estuary House guidelines. To work and act as a key member of the team, supporting each patient in the achievement of their planned outcomes and goals.
