The service is equipped with a Toshiba Aquilion wide-bore CT simulator, Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators, XStrahl superficial x-ray unit, mould room and workshop, Elekta Mosaiq Oncology Management System, AcQSim Virtual Simulation and Pinnacle Treatment Planning System. A full linear accelerator replacement programme is currently nearing completion, continuing the provision of cutting-edge service delivery.Aside from being rated as an area of Outstanding Practice by the CQC (2016), the centre has received accolades for the high-quality care delivered, including CHKS ISO 9001 accreditation, Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM) rated 5 out of 5 on all principles, Investors in People Gold Award and Customer Service Excellence Award, July 2016 (the only NHS organisation to ever receive an A+++ rating). In the 2016 National Cancer Patient Experience Survey, the Beacon Centre was ranked second overall and in the National Cancer Patient Experience Survey 2017, the Beacon Centre was ranked 3rd in the country, this is a genuine reflection of the exemplary person-centred care delivered.The successful candidate will join a team of eight Clinical Oncologists, 30 Radiographers and 12 Physics staff.
