Dental hygienists play a crucial role in providing preventative oral care under the supervision of a dentist. Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. 3. Remove calculus and plaque from all surfaces of the teeth, ensuring thorough cleaning. 4. Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides to protect the teeth from decay. 5. Ensure patients feel comfortable and at ease before their dental examination. 6. Properly sterilize dental instruments to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. 7.
