Description:
An acupuncturist is a complementary health practitioner who takes a holistic approach to the maintenance of health and the management of disease. They apply theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine through acupuncture. Acupuncturists evaluate and treat pain and illness while also focusing on maintaining overall health and wellness. They use fine needles to stimulate energy flow along meridians and activate the body's natural healing response. Acupuncturists also play a role in assessing client progress, keeping records, and promoting their practice.
General Responsibilities:
1. Carry out an initial consultation with each client to establish a detailed case history and assess their health.
2. Determine a personalized treatment plan based on the client's needs and goals.
3. Conduct one-to-one treatment sessions, explaining the diagnosis and treatment to the client and addressing any questions or concerns.
4. Administer acupuncture by inserting fine needles into specific locations on the skin to stimulate energy flow and promote healing.
5. Regularly assess client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
6. Maintain accurate client and financial records.
7. Organize and promote the acupuncture practice to attract new clients and build a strong patient base.
