Intensive Care

Intensive care physicians, also known as intensivists, specialize in the care of seriously or critically ill patients who are at risk of or recovering from life-threatening conditions. They are experts in diagnosing brain death and providing care and support for organ donors. Intensive care specialists possess clinical skills to recognize and manage disturbances associated with severe medical, surgical, obstetric, and pediatric illnesses, as well as diagnose and treat the underlying conditions. General Responsibilities: 1. Overseeing the various decisions involved in the care of critically ill patients 2. Coordinating all necessary services, including those from specialists, for the patient 3. Managing and monitoring the patient's condition 4. Providing organ system support and investigating, diagnosing, and treating acute illnesses 5. Interacting with the patient's family during emotionally challenging times 6. Diagnosing the level of pain and administering appropriate medication to stabilize the patient's pain level 7. Creating detailed reports
