A Pediatric Neurologist is a specialized doctor who focuses on diagnosing and treating children with disorders of the nervous system. They deal with conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscles in infants, children, and adolescents. In addition to treating various diseases such as seizures, sleep disorders, head injuries, learning disabilities, and developmental problems, they also play a crucial role in managing the overall care of their young patients. General Responsibilities: 1. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic diseases and conditions affecting the brain and nervous system, including headaches, learning disabilities, seizures, and concussions. 2. Perform and interpret tests such as lumbar punctures, electroencephalography, electromyography, and nerve conduction velocity tests. 3. Develop comprehensive treatment plans and assist in the management of children's care. 4. Evaluate a child's medical history to gain insights into their condition. 5. Conduct thorough physical examinations, including assessing blood pressure, vital signs, and the overall health of the brain and nervous system. 6. Order neurological tests and interpret the results of neuroimaging studies.
