A Transplant Surgeon is a board-certified surgeon who specializes in life-saving surgeries that involve transplanting an organ—such as a kidney, liver, pancreas, heart, or lung—into a patient who needs the organ to survive. They possess extensive knowledge of corresponding blood types, nerve connections, and components of vital organs that affect other organs. Additionally, they are skilled in fusing organs together and integrating them into the recipient's body. General Responsibilities: 1. Assessing patient health 2. Ensuring surgery patients receive compatible organs 3. Providing preoperative and postoperative care for organ recipients 4. Studying the medical histories of patients and donors 5.
