Licensed Practical Nurses - Well-staffed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Responsibilities: Participates in providing daily hygiene needs of the resident (cleanliness, grooming, rest, nourishment and elimination). Observes general physical and mental condition of residents and reports to RN their symptoms, reactions and progress. Gives direct care to the acutely ill resident and those requiring specialized treatments, rehabilitative devices and/or diagnostic Performs therapeutic and nursing procedures as assigned; assists the physician and professional nurse. Assists with rehabilitation by applying techniques of prevention of deformities, normal range of motion, body mechanics and body alignment. Participates in meeting the medical/psychosocial needs of resident and in providing for their overall wellbeing. Orients new resident to the unit and assists in teaching good health habits. Assists with care of the resident, maintaining a tranquil and supportive environment. Records observations and care in the Nursing Notes according to established policies. Administers medication and treatments, and documents same. Maintains medication room with attention to standards of infection control and policies of facility. Maintains medication cart: clean and organized, Checks narcotics daily and documents same. Reviews daily for adequate supply of medication on all residents. Maintains accurate, neat medex on all residents. Reviews all medexes at beginning of each month for compliance with doctor's orders and completes time of administration. Monitors emergency drug box on unit. Monitors progress of all decubiti and recommends any necessary interventions. Stages, measures and documents on all decubiti weekly and reports findings to Unit Coordinator. Maintains adequate supplies on unit, ordering supplies and modifying par levels as needed. Maintains cleanliness of treatment room and treatment carte Monitors treatment cart that only current dated solutions and treatments are present. Monitors that suction machine is clean and stocked with emergency supplies. Administers tube feedings as ordered and maintains equipment dated as per policy at bedside. Conforms to and interprets the philosophy, aims and policies Of the facility to resident, visitors and personnel. Participates in the in-service program, including orientation, and on-the-job learning of nursing personnel. Performs duties of coordinator in charge of floor as necessary. Competitive weekly pay!
