The Primary Care Physician is responsible for providing care in River Family Health Center. They are responsible for clinical decision-making as it relates to care, treatment and follow up care provisions, teaches disease prevention and health wellness. They are responsible for participating and supporting Quality Improvement activities for the institution and the clinic area.

Conduct regular thorough examinations on newborns and young children to check and record their health and normal physical developmentExamine sick children to determine their condition and ask intuitive questions to gather information about symptomsReach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and individual medical historyPrescribe medications and give detailed instructions for administrationPrescribe and interpret appropriate lab tests to gain more information for possible infections or abnormalitiesPrepare and administer vaccines according to the governmental vaccination planExamine and treat injuries and refer the little patients to physicians of other disciplines when necessary (e.g. surgeons, ophthalmologists, orthopedists etc.)Advise parents on children s diet, exercise and disease preventive measuresKeep updated records of patients illnesses, surgeries or other medical episodes (allergic shocks, injuries etc.)Keep abreast of advancements in pediatrics and best practices by attending seminars and conferences

Provides required patient care and management in the field of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology in accordance with standards of medical care laid down by the hospitalAssumes responsibility for patient under his or her care. Liaises with various support service departments and medical specializations to provide appropriate and timely medical care, in accordance with the standards laid down by the hospitalComplies with all hospital standards and policies pertaining to acceptance, eligibility, admission processes, consultant ion, daily patient care operating room, outpatient practices and patient dischargesEnsures appropriate patient preparation for procedures and surgery and performs procedures as indicated in the signed clinical privilege formProvides high quality anesthesia care to patients and manages the medical care of patients before, during and after surgery

The position is responsible for the EPSDT (Early Periodic Screening and Diagnostic Testing) / Well Child program. This individual will plan, organize and implement programs and strategies in alignment with EPSDT guidelines, NCQA standards and State requirements.Manages and influences health care quality projects and initiatives through design, development, and implementation. These activities enable Aetna to improve health care quality products, services, and processes by partnering across business units to meet business needs and accomplish goals.Must be a Louisiana state resident. Schedule Monday-Friday standard business hours.No weekends, no holidays and no nights!Job responsibilities include but not limited to:-Serves as the (Regional/National) Project Leader to oversee all aspects of project implementation including budget development and supervision of staff participants (e.g., HEDIS/Accreditation)-May seek funding from external sources.-Prioritizes and makes recommendations for the design, development, and implementation strategy of quality improvement projects, and initiatives.-Designs the data collection methodology, metrics, and data elements needed to measure outcomes of QI projects.-Translates and delivers business information to internal and external constituents via formal presentations and/or written communications.-Develops documentation templates and systems to support QM projects and initiatives.-Forms and leads cross functional workgroups to design and implement QI initiatives.-May have supervisory responsibilities.-Supports sales and marketing in their efforts to acquire and retain customers (e.g., responding to RFPs, quality presentations, request for measurement information).Educates and consults with unit business managers on quality improvement methods (e.g., work flow, data analysis, metrics).
