Occupational Therapy Assistant is a healthcare professional who works under the supervision of an occupational therapist in planning and implementing programs to restore the self-care, work, and leisure skills of clients/patients. They play a crucial role in helping patients regain their independence and confidence in carrying out daily functions. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to assist patients in returning to their routine of living by improving their physical and mental abilities. General Responsibilities: 1. Test and evaluate the physical and mental abilities of patients to determine their rehabilitation needs. 2. Analyze relevant medical information to establish appropriate rehabilitation goals for each patient. 3. Consult with the rehabilitation team to select effective activity programs that align with the patient's goals. 4. Coordinate occupational therapy with other types of therapeutic activities to provide comprehensive care. 5. Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, progress, and outcomes. 6. Assist in educating patients on home exercise programs and the proper use of equipment. 7. Participate in education and staff development courses to stay updated with the latest advancements in occupational therapy.
