These professionals use Electronic Health Records to record confidential patient information and only share it with other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's treatment. Medical Assistants support physicians, physician assistants, and other health professionals in a clinic setting, ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare facilities. General Responsibilities: 1. Receive and direct phone calls 2. Schedule appointments 3. Check-in patients 4. Obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records 5. Ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients 6. Check-out patients 7. Assist with referral processing 8. Arrange laboratory services 9. Prepare patients for examination 10. Take vitals and record patients' health history 11. Set-up EKG machines 12. Administer injections and medications 13. Perform routine specimen collection and tests 14. Prepare equipment and examination rooms 15. Clean instruments 16. Assist physicians with medical treatments, procedures, and exams 17. Manage inventory of medical supplies 18. Equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies 19. Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality 20. Coordinate daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance 21. Prepare treatment rooms for clinical examinations 22. Assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care 23. Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families
