Foster Care

Foster care is a system designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for minors who have been placed into the care of a state-certified caregiver. These caregivers, commonly referred to as foster parents, can be either individuals or approved family members. The foster care system aims to address the behavioral, mental, and emotional issues faced by children through the assistance of foster care social workers. These professionals play a crucial role in helping children cope with feelings of abandonment and facilitating their overall well-being. General Responsibilities: 1. Providing day-to-day care for children and young people 2. Advocating on behalf of the child to ensure their needs are met 3. Supporting the educational, health, and social well-being of the child 4. Managing sometimes challenging behavior and maintaining records 5. Attending meetings and collaborating with the wider team 6. Continuously developing personal skills to enhance the quality of care
