Description:
Child Care professionals provide care for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. They are responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling child care workers or teachers to assist with large numbers of children. Additionally, they must manage the center's finances, ensure that the center meets legal requirements and accreditation standards, and meet with prospective clients. Child Care professionals also assist with planning lessons, reading to children, teaching letters and numbers, redirecting negative behavior, and providing basic first-aid when necessary. They play a crucial role in the development and well-being of children.
General Responsibilities:
1. Organize activities or implement a curriculum that allows children to learn about the world and explore their interests
2. Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime
3. Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring potential problems to the attention of parents or guardians
4. Prepare and organize mealtimes and snacks for children
5. Help children maintain good hygiene
6. Change the diapers of infants and toddlers
