Hemodialysis Technicians are allied health professionals who oversee the dialysis process, working closely with patients undergoing treatment for acute or chronic renal disease. Their main responsibility is to remove toxins from patients whose kidneys no longer function properly. These professionals are highly trained in the operation of a dialysis machine, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the treatment. Hemodialysis Technicians are skilled in handling emergency scenarios and responding promptly to any alarms or emergencies that may occur during dialysis. With their expertise, they contribute to improving the quality of life for patients with kidney failure. General Responsibilities: 1. Setting up and operating the haemodialysis machine to provide dialysis treatment for patients with kidney failure. 2. Connecting the haemodialysis machine to the access in the patient's forearm or catheter site to start blood circulating through the dialyzer. 3. Inspecting equipment settings, including pressures, conductivity, and temperature, to ensure conformance to safety standards. 4. Fabricating parts, such as cannulas, tubing, catheters, connectors, and fittings, using hand tools if necessary. 5. Assembling the dialysis machine and ensuring its proper performance. 6. Ensuring the safe and secure usage of the dialysis machine. 7. Administering local anesthesia and placing the needle for dialysis. 8. Monitoring and adjusting patient fluid removal rates as required. 9. Ensuring sterilization of operating equipment before use. 10. Responding promptly to emergency scenarios. 11. Educating patients on health maintenance and care. 12. Monitoring patients' vitals during dialysis. 13. Disinfecting dialysis equipment to maintain cleanliness and prevent infections. 14. Handling any alarms or emergencies that occur during dialysis.
