Health Records Manager
Description:
Medical Records Managers are responsible for accurately, securely, and effectively managing information received by the medical records department. They maintain and oversee the medical records function within a healthcare organization, collecting data for medical research and calculating hospital occupancy rates. Additionally, they conduct job interviews, hire staff, and train new personnel. Medical Records Managers ensure that patient data is protected and that information contained in each record is complete, accurate, and secure. They also stay updated on new computer technologies and regulations enacted by insurance companies to ensure compliance with financial, legal, and administrative requirements.
General Responsibilities:
1. Supervise, guide, motivate, and evaluate employees
2. Manage and secure all written and electronic data within the medical records department
3. Ensure completeness, accuracy, and security of information in each record
4. Develop, maintain, verify, and evaluate existing systems
5. Retrieve patient records and data for physicians and medical personnel as needed
6. Stay updated on new computer technologies and insurance regulations
7. Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and administrative requirements
