Foot Health Practitioners (FHP) are highly qualified professionals who specialize in providing essential foot health maintenance treatments. They offer a wide range of services to ensure the overall well-being of their clients' feet. These services include cutting and filing toenails and fingernails, treating corns and calluses, preventing and treating fungal nail infections, and conducting general check-ups on feet. FHPs also play a crucial role in providing foot care services to individuals with diabetes by carefully assessing their feet for any changes in condition and taking appropriate measures to prevent complications.
General Responsibilities:
1. Offering expert advice to clients and effectively treating common foot health problems such as bunions, corns, and calluses.
2. Providing routine foot care and maintenance treatments, including specialized diabetic foot care, nail cutting, general foot care, treatment of verrucas, fungal infections, and athletes foot.
3. Thoroughly assessing the condition of a patient's feet and delivering the appropriate treatment, while also referring them to their GP or podiatrist if necessary for further evaluation or specialized care.
