A Podiatric Medical Assistant is a specialized medical assistant who works in the field of podiatry, which focuses on diagnosing and treating foot disorders. Performing pretreatment foot exams to assess patients' conditions and gather relevant information. 2. Applying casts and bandages to support and protect injured or post-surgical feet. 3. Assisting podiatrists during minor surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and providing necessary instruments. 4. Performing fungal nail care, including trimming, cleaning, and applying appropriate medications. 5. Collecting patient health information, such as medical history, allergies, and current medications, to assist podiatrists in making accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
