Vascular Interventional Technologist
Description:
Vascular Interventional Technologists are highly skilled professionals who perform specialized diagnostic and therapeutic radiology procedures. Working closely with Radiologists, they assist in image-guided vascular procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, and thrombolysis. Utilizing fluoroscopic equipment, they capture detailed images of blood vessels to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
General Responsibilities:
1. Scrub in and provide assistance to the physician during surgical procedures
2. Prepare and position patients for optimal imaging
3. Accurately select appropriate anatomic and technical parameters for each procedure
4. Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice
5. Follow strict radiation safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff
6. Perform specialized imaging procedures including angioplasty, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures
7. Capture high-quality images using fluoroscopic equipment
