Obstetrics and Gynecology

Obstetrician Gynecologists are physicians who specialize in the female reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth. They are trained to provide medical and surgical care for disorders affecting the female reproductive system, to deliver babies, and to provide care for unborn fetus, the newborn, and the mother. Obstetrics involves care during pre-conception, pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, while Gynecology cover the health of female reproductive system including the vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts. General Responsibilities: 1. Conduct routine check-ups on patients 2. Record medical history and perform physical examinations 3. Monitor and treat expectant mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum 4. Diagnose and prescribe treatments for disorders and diseases 5. Perform a wide range of tests, including pap smears, pelvic, and breast exams 6. Educate patients about disease prevention and detection, and reproductive health 7. Stay updated with current practices and innovations
