Sleep Medicine Specialists are physicians who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of sleep disorders. Provide consultations and review medical history 2. Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests 3. Order and interpret sleep studies and other tests related to the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders 4. Design a personalized treatment plan 5. Prescribe therapies, including medications and medical device therapy (such as oral appliance therapy or CPAP for apnea) 6. Provide treatment options and recommendations 7. Participate in an interdisciplinary care of patients of all ages that incorporates aspects of psychiatry, neurology, internal medicine, epidemiology, surgery, pediatrics, and basic science 8.
