Telephonist/Switchboard Operator
Description:
A critical point of communication for our patients is the Telephonist/Switchboard Operator to ensure that they and their families can interact with the appropriate departments about their care. A switchboard operator operates for large corporations, hospitals, and hotels where there is usually an abundance of telephone calls. By answering the line and connecting the caller to the correct person or agency, the operator supports callers. Switchboard staff had to manually connect callers to a switchboard by plugging phone lines into the correct circuit before technological inventions came into action. The Telephonist/Switchboard Operator plays a vital role in facilitating effective communication and ensuring smooth operations within our organization.
