Description:
Podiatry technicians play a crucial role in assisting podiatrists with a wide range of podiatric treatment procedures and related technician tasks. Working under the supervision of a Podiatrist, they perform various specialized clinic procedures, including preliminary examinations and patient evaluations. Additionally, they are responsible for preparing podiatric work-ups, x-rays, laboratory requests, and other necessary documentation. With their expertise, podiatry technicians ensure that patients receive the highest quality care and support throughout their treatment journey.
General Responsibilities:
1. Retrieve patients' medical history and diagnostic data from the medical records and radiology department, ensuring it is readily available for the podiatrist.
2. Prepare patients for examination, record relevant clinical data, provide patient education, and assist with redressing patients as needed.
3. Apply and remove routine external immobilization and support devices.
4. Perform minor repairs, calibrations, cleaning, sterilization, and routine maintenance of all podiatric equipment.
5. Report any major repairs or the need for equipment replacement.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procedures and tasks performed.
