Interventional Radiologists are certified physicians who specialize in interventional radiology. They are highly skilled in using x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other imaging techniques to guide small instruments and interpret medical images. With their expertise in reading x-rays, ultrasounds, CTs, MRIs, and other forms of medical imaging, they play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. General Responsibilities: 1. Set up and operate the necessary equipment for interventional radiological procedures. 2. Take images and ensure proper positioning of patients. 3. Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. 4. Observe patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity. 5. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as necessary. 6. Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to ensure the well-being of patients and staff. 7. Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards. 8. Work in a constant state of alertness and maintain a safe working environment. 9. Prepare and position patients accurately, selecting appropriate anatomic and technical parameters.
