Rehabilitation Student
Description:
A Rehabilitation student/intern performs routine rehabilitation therapy according to patient treatment plans under the direction of a licensed rehabilitation therapist. They evaluate and treat patients with a wide variety of disabilities in both in-patient and out-patient settings. This role allows the student to actively participate in all aspects of patient care, including exercise prescription, exercise leadership, nutrition counseling, stress management, and patient education. The rehabilitation intern works under the supervision of a licensed therapist to provide comprehensive rehabilitation services.
General Responsibilities:
1. Perform rehabilitation therapy under the supervision of a licensed rehabilitation therapist.
2. Follow routine treatment plans appropriate to the patient's needs as directed by a licensed rehabilitation therapist.
3. Evaluate and treat patients with a wide variety of disabilities.
4. Report to the licensed rehabilitation therapist on patient progress and any changes in treatment plans.
5. Assist in developing and implementing exercise prescription for patients.
6. Provide exercise leadership and guidance to patients during therapy sessions.
7. Offer nutrition counseling to patients to support their overall rehabilitation goals.
8. Assist patients in managing stress and developing coping strategies.
9. Educate patients on their conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
