Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist is a healthcare professional who provides services designed to restore self-care, work, and leisure skills to patients/clients who have specific performance incapacities or deficits that reduce their abilities to cope with the tasks of everyday living. The occupational therapist evaluates and treats problems arising from developmental deficits, physical illness or injury, emotional disorders, the aging process, and psychological or social disability. They provide treatment to sick, injured, or disabled individuals. General Responsibilities: 1. Evaluate the medical history of the patients. 2. Conduct patient assessments and evaluations to determine their physical condition, limitations, and medical histories. 3. Communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers to confirm plans of care. 4. Advise family members and other supportive individuals about the level of care the patient needs. 5. Provide occupational therapy guidance, support, and education during patient sessions. 6. Teach patients how to interact with adaptive technology. 7. Show patients how to use assistive devices. 8. Assist patients with purchasing products to help them achieve their goals. 9. Guide patients through graded activities. 10. Generate reports for patients, their physicians, and families. 11. Visit patients' homes to help install or use assistive devices.
