Employment advisers work in mental health services to provide support to adults and young people with mental health issues, assisting them in finding, retaining, or returning to employment. They offer intensive and personalized support to individuals receiving mental health services who are unemployed or require assistance to stay in their current job. With a strong understanding of mental health issues, employment advisers provide support in various areas, including helping clients request reasonable adjustments at work, attending disciplinary meetings, assisting with job search, applications, cover letters, and interview preparations. They are creative problem solvers, adept at overcoming obstacles, and skilled at building relationships with a diverse range of people. Employment advisers are also proficient in approaching employers and establishing positive connections with them.
General Responsibilities:
1. Provide intensive and personalized support to individuals receiving mental health services and are unemployed or require assistance to stay in their current job
2. Demonstrate a good understanding of mental health issues
3. Assist clients in requesting reasonable adjustments at work
4. Attend disciplinary meetings on behalf of clients
