Description:
CT Radiographers are professionals who use computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients' internal structures. They play a crucial role in ensuring accurate positioning of patients and closely monitoring them during CT scans. In addition to these primary responsibilities, CT Radiographers also perform regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner and sterilize radiologic equipment to maintain patient safety. They are skilled in correctly interpreting doctors' written scanning instructions and administering radiocontrast agents to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues. Evaluating CT scans for technical quality and explaining scanning procedures to patients are also part of their role. CT Radiographers provide reassurance and support to patients throughout the scanning process.
General Responsibilities:
1. Use computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues
2. Appropriately position patients to correctly capture the images requested by a physician
3. Perform regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner
4. Sterilize radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients
5. Correctly interpret doctors' written scanning instructions
6. Administer radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues
7. Evaluate CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality
8. Explain scanning procedures to patients and provide reassurance and support as required
