A Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) is a certified and registered health care professional in radiography who provides primary care support to radiologists. General Responsibilities:
1. Perform radiologic exams and procedures under the supervision of a radiologist
2. Review patients' history and medical records to verify the appropriateness of a procedure and report significant findings to the radiologist
3. Obtain informed consent from patients
4. Administer contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by the radiologist
5. Administer general medications as prescribed by the radiologist
6. Perform fluoroscopic examinations and procedures, including contrast media administration and operation of fluoroscopic unit
7. Evaluate image quality and make initial image observations
